Why You Should Always Be Thinking About New Ads
“Heyyyyyy, what’s new with you!?”
Pretty standard way to greet someone you haven’t seen in a while, right?
Notice how we don’t say:
• “Hey, what’s old?”
• “Tell me something I already know.”
We ask about what’s new—because “new” is exciting. It sparks curiosity. And that’s exactly why, as business owners and marketers, we can’t afford to sit still.
Ad Fatigue: The Real Pandemic
Social media has a lot going for it. It gives us easy access to our audience, the potential for virality, and powerful tools to reach the right prospects.
But…
…there’s a catch.
Attention spans are toast. “TikTok brain” is real. People struggle to sit through a movie, focus on homework—or even finish a video longer than 90 seconds.
This doesn’t just apply to teenagers. It affects everyone. Even your ideal clients.
Not because they want to ignore your ads—but because they have to. Their brains are constantly bombarded with noise. Hundreds of ads. Every day. Every platform. All the time.
So What’s the Fix?
No, I won’t ask you to start dancing on TikTok.
The solution isn’t just to shrink everything down to 60-second snackable content. The real solution?
Variety.
More ads. More angles. More formats.
Don’t rely on one video. Give them ten.
Don’t stop at one article. Create a hundred.
Don’t write one tweet. Share a thousand.
When someone is truly interested in what you offer, they will dig deeper. But you have to give them something to dig into.
Think of your content like a buffet. The more options you offer, the more likely it is they’ll find something they like—and take the next step.
So What Should You Do Right Now?
If you’re running just one ad—make three.
If you’ve got a single retargeting video—create five more.
Your prospects are curious. Your job is to feed that curiosity with more content, more ideas, more entry points.
Go be fruitful. With your content, I mean. Or in other ways too—that’s your business.
